I think it's created a new option for building friendships. It's more intimate than a text but less formal than a phone call so it lets you in on your friends lives during, what would usually be, mundane moments. It's helped me deepen so many connections because I can come to it when I'm available which is more often than I expect. I'm grateful it's an option because I get to see my nephews grow up even though we're on opposite sides of the country in different time zones. We still get to connect through Marco Polo

It's such a useful way to get share snippets about our lives that would probably go unmentioned via texting. Being able to quickly pop on a video on our own time makes it less stressful but more intimate and I think that's why I've been able to connect with new friends so much more using the app
